Francesca Kula is an artist currently based in Brooklyn, NY. They received a BFA in Photography with a Minor in Film/Video at Pratt Institute
They are interested in the way that photography acts as a depiction of truth but can become something entirely fictional. They insist that all of their images belong to one setting or place through the obfuscation of horizon lines and figures' faces; they capture moments in the landscape that convey a sense of time–dents in the grass, carvings, and debris— to hold these images in time. This altogether a sense of dislocation and ultimately uniting their work into a singular “place”, willing it into our world. Through this, they create a greater edenic landscape where the viewer can depart
They are co-founder of KB a Brooklyn based art gallery alongside Coco Benger.
